north shore lifestyle

You can’t live in North Vancouver without gratitude for the beautiful natural forests and mountains in your backyard. Driftwood Village has easy access to nature at a variety of scales. For a quick dose of biophilia, walk out the back of the community to hunt for salmonberries and huckleberries under the cover of the North Shore forest, with the sound of Wagg Creek in the background.

If you have just an hour or two after work, that’s enough time for a bike ride up the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, a hike in Lynn Canyon, or night skiing or snowshoeing at any of the three North Shore ski hills.

For adventures further abroad, Squamish, Whistler, the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island are easily accessible from Highway #1, just 500 metres from our parkade where your gear is stored.

extra soundproofing

Additional soundproofing has been added between floors: just because you know your neighbours doesn’t mean you need to hear them!

triple glazed windows

Sitting beside a triple glazed window, you won’t be hot in the summer or cold in the winter. These high quality windows are an investment in the comfort of your home, plus they contribute to soundproofing and lower utility costs.

designed for real life

Driftwood Village has been designed by the future residents themselves, so you’ll find material choices that are aesthetically pleasing, while still being comfortable, low maintenance, and durable for the long term.

With our high quality building standard, I’m proud of the way Driftwood is addressing the issues of climate change and increasing energy costs.

low utility costs

As the future residents designed Driftwood Village as their own homes, they took utility costs seriously. Installing extra insulation, triple glazed windows and low-profile LED lighting will keep utility costs low in the long term.

chargers for electric cars and e-bikes

E-bikes are a great fit for North Vancouver’s hills, and our bike rooms have ample outlets for charging.

Chargers are also available for electric vehicles.

community car share

While parking is available to those who need it, we recognize that owning a car may not be necessary in our walkable urban neighbourhood. But knowing you have access to a vehicle when you need it gives people peace of mind, so we’re creating our own internal community car share program (in which participation is optional).

recycling room

With the power of a collaborative community, we are organized to recycle many more items and materials than a typical strata. There are bins for light bulbs, batteries and plastic bags in the recycling room, so you don’t need to manage those small items in your personal space.

I can’t wait to get working on our second year of riparian habitat restoration along Wagg Creek.
